Con Report: MiniComi '11
I was at MiniComi on Saturday, an anime inspired art/craft show that took place at UBC in Vancouver, BC. This is a new one-day show, so I wasn't sure how many people would show up. It went well, actually. There was a steady stream of attendees for most of the day; much better than any of the small conventional craft shows I've been to. The free admission and accessible location definitely helped boost traffic, I'm sure. :)
My table! If you look closely, you can see my mom behind my shelf. She drove me out to UBC, and helped at my table, which was awesome. I got a chance to look around, stretch my legs, and use the bathroom without worrying about my stuff and missing sales. I'm usually a one-woman sales team.
Thanks to everyone who bought something! I sold a batch of tofu bunnies, they were quite popular at this show. A great event--I'd love to see some anime artist markets like this in Toronto, too! If I'm out in BC during MiniComi next year too, I'll probably rent a table space again!
My next show is ConBravo in Burlington, Ontario next weekend, July 30-31. I'm back on the greyhound bus tomorrow morning for Toronto, so I should be back Friday morning. Just enough time to do some last minute sewing and rest up before ConBravo. Phew~
